Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has declared the conclusion of the first stage of the operation “Iron Swords,” according to a statement on the politician’s social media. “We are entering a long and difficult war. This war was imposed on us by a deadly attack from Hamas. The first stage is ending with the destruction of the majority of enemy forces that infiltrated our territory,” Netanyahu stated. He added that the Israeli Defense Forces’ offensive against Hamas members and Islamic Jihad militants (an organization banned in Russia) who orchestrated the attack on Israeli border settlements will continue uninterrupted.
Earlier, British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak announced that London is preparing measures to support Israel in collaboration with its partners. He also described Hamas’ attack on Israel as “cowardly and malicious.” On October 7th, Hamas forces launched thousands of rockets into Israeli territory, declaring the start of the “Flood of Al-Aqsa” operation. In light of this, Israel’s Minister of National Security, Itamar Ben-Gvir, declared a state of emergency in the country.
Previously, Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu vowed to destroy Hamas.
