In a recent development, Iran has openly expressed its support for the operation known as “Flood Al-Aqsa,” initiated by Palestinian militants on Israeli territory. This announcement was made by Ali Khamenei’s advisor, General Rahim Safavi, according to the latest reports by TASS.
“We fully endorse the ‘Flood Al-Aqsa’ operation, which is commendable, and we congratulate the Palestinian fighters on the commencement of this operation. We will stand by them until the liberation of Palestine and Jerusalem,” stated the advisor.
On October 7th, Hamas forces launched over 5,000 rockets into Israeli territory. In response, Israel’s Minister of National Security, Itamar Ben-Gvir, declared a state of emergency in the country. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu also declared that the country is in a state of war. The Israel Defense Forces’ operation against Hamas has been named “Iron Swords.”
In retaliation for the Israeli airstrikes, the Hamas targets in the Gaza Strip were hit, with strikes conducted on 21 Hamas facilities by the Israeli Air Force. The Israeli police had previously stated that the escalation could continue for several days.
