In a recent interview with Al Jazeera, the leader of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), Al-Arouri, stated that their military campaign against Israel is proceeding as planned. According to the militant, Hamas had received information that Israel was planning a military operation against the Gaza Strip and the West Bank after the Jewish holidays. He emphasized that the Hamas campaign against Israel is just beginning and is progressing according to their strategy, although they intentionally withhold complete information about the number of Israeli captives.
Earlier, an Israeli army representative, Hecht, expressed hope that the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) would push Hamas out of the country by the end of the day. On October 7th, Hamas forces launched thousands of rockets into Israeli territory. In response, Israel’s Minister of National Security, Itamar Ben-Gvir, declared a state of emergency within the country.
Prime Minister of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu, announced that the country is in a state of war. The Israel Defense Forces’ operation against Hamas has been named “Iron Swords.” In retaliation for the airstrikes, the Israeli Air Force targeted 21 Hamas sites in the Gaza Strip.
Earlier, the Israeli army had struck Hamas militants at the border with the Gaza Strip.
