Hamas Launches Massive Attack on Israel, Captures City of Ashkelon

In a significant development, the Hamas movement, which controls the Gaza Strip, has launched a major attack on Israel, capturing the city of Ashkelon. This unprecedented aggression was reported by the German newspaper Bild. Julian Repke, a military analyst for the newspaper, highlights that such a large-scale Hamas attack on Israel has never been witnessed before.

“Terrorists have taken control of the center of the city of Ashkelon after breaking through from the Gaza Strip. It appears that Sderot is also partially under Hamas control. This signifies war,” the article states. Ashkelon is situated on the shores of the Mediterranean Sea, approximately 7 km away from the Gaza Strip.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has declared that the country is in a state of war. On October 7, Hamas militants launched rockets at Israeli border towns and areas near Tel Aviv. Israel’s Defense Minister, Yoav Galant, stated that the Palestinian radical Islamist movement had declared war on his country. In response, the Defense Minister announced a mass mobilization of reservists.

Hamas’ military wing has reported that approximately 35 Israeli soldiers and settlers have been captured during the operation on Israeli territory. Earlier, it was revealed how Egypt and Syria nearly destroyed Israel on Judgment Day.
