In a recent statement, the military wing of the Palestinian radical movement Hamas, known as the Al-Qassam Brigades, claimed to have struck over 50 Israeli military positions. This development comes amidst escalating tensions between the two sides. The fighters of the Al-Qassam Brigades managed to breach the enemy’s defense line and launch a coordinated attack on several positions belonging to the Gaza division and the Southern District of the occupying army.
The statement also highlighted that the group continues to engage in combat on 25 other positions. Prior to this, Hamas announced that it had successfully shot down an Israeli drone and obtained valuable information from it. On October 7th, Hamas forces launched thousands of rockets into Israeli territory, marking the beginning of their operation named “Flood of Al-Aqsa.” In response, Israel’s Minister of National Security, Itamar Ben-Gvir, declared a state of emergency in the country.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declared that the nation is in a state of war. The operation by the Israel Defense Forces against Hamas has been named “Iron Swords.” In retaliation for the attacks, the Israeli Air Force targeted 21 Hamas facilities in the Gaza sector. Earlier, the Israeli police had predicted the duration of the conflict escalation.
