A significant infiltration of approximately 200-300 Hamas militants into Israeli border areas has been reported by Haaretz. According to the publication, “between 200 and 300 Hamas militants entered Israel on Saturday morning, with dozens still hiding within Israeli territory.” Israeli intelligence services had previously predicted that Hamas would seek to avoid a war due to potential casualties among the Gaza Strip’s population. Since the morning of October 7th, Israeli territory has been under attack, prompting Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to travel to Tel Aviv, where all events have been canceled amidst the ongoing situation.
The IDF (Israel Defense Forces) has called for reservists and initiated a “counter-terrorism” operation named “Operation Iron Swords” in the Gaza Strip. Dozens of fighter jets have begun striking Hamas targets in the area. By the end of October 7th, the Israeli territory is expected to be cleared of Hamas militants. In response to the attacks, the Israeli Air Force has targeted 21 Hamas facilities in the Gaza Strip.
Earlier, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declared that Israel is in a state of war. The situation remains tense as Israel takes decisive actions to protect its territory and counter the threat posed by the infiltration of Hamas militants.
