The Islamic Resistance Movement, Hamas, has released footage showing the capture of the Erez checkpoint by Palestinians in the northern part of the Gaza Strip, along the Israeli border. The video was posted on the movement’s Telegram channel. The caption accompanying the video states, “Scenes of Al-Qassam Brigades storming the Erez military facility in the northern part of the Gaza Strip, as well as capturing its soldiers during the Battle of Al-Aqsa Flood.”
Prior to this, Hamas showcased captured Israeli military equipment. On October 7th, Hamas forces launched thousands of rockets into Israeli territory. In response, Israel’s Minister of National Security, Itamar Ben-Gvir, declared a state of emergency in the country. Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu announced that the country is in a state of war. The Israel Defense Forces’ operation against Hamas has been named “Iron Swords.” In retaliation for the Israeli airstrikes, Hamas targets in the Gaza Strip were struck in 21 locations.
Earlier, the Israeli police predicted the duration of the conflict escalation.
