Air Raid Sirens Sound in Southern Israel amid Tensions with Gaza Strip

Air raid sirens began sounding early in the morning in southern Israel near the border with the Gaza Strip, as well as in the Tel Aviv area. The army’s press service reported this, according to TASS. According to the Israeli Defense Forces Rear Command, the alarm signals, in particular, were triggered in several areas of Tel Aviv, as well as in its suburbs – Holon, Bat Yam, Rishon LeZion, Bnei Brak, Herzliya. Warning sirens also sounded in the southern cities of Ashdod, Ashkelon, Beersheba, and in several districts adjacent to the Gaza Strip. It is specified that sirens are also sounding in the Greater Tel Aviv metropolitan area of Gush Dan.

At the end of September, the press service of the Israeli Defense Forces reported that additional forces would be sent to the border with the Gaza Strip due to ongoing unrest along the security fence and threats from radical groups in the enclave.

On September 22, Israeli military officials reported that the country’s army had struck three military targets in the Gaza Strip. It was noted that two targets were hit using unmanned aerial vehicles, and in one case, the military fired from a tank.

Prior to this, it was reported that five rockets were fired from the Gaza Strip towards Israeli territory, all of which were successfully intercepted by the Iron Dome defense system.

Earlier, it was reported that Hamas is preparing for a full-scale war with Israel.
