Russian Defense Ministry Signs Contracts with Novosibirsk Aviation Plant for 2024

The Russian Defense Minister, Sergei Shoigu, has announced that the Russian Defense Ministry has signed contracts with the Novosibirsk Aviation Plant named after Chkalov for the year 2024. This information was reported by TASS.

“Furthermore, we have completed the contracting for 2024. There are no issues requiring our attention for the year,” Shoigu stated.

It is noted that the aviation plant also discussed the progress of current contracts and tasks for the following year.

Previously, it was reported that the Novosibirsk Aviation Plant named after Chkalov (NAP) is constructing three more experimental models of the heavy strike unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) S-70 “Okhotnik.” According to their data, the UAVs are planned to be deployed for flight tests in 2022-2023.

The second UAV’s design will be modified based on the operational experience of the first “Okhotnik,” which began flight tests in August 2019, a source revealed. This includes the onboard radio-electronic equipment system and elements of the glider structure. The third and fourth UAVs will essentially correspond to the serial version of the “Okhotnik,” the source added.

Earlier, Shoigu discussed Russia’s military exercises in Ukraine.
