Ukrainian Men Must Prepare for Frontline Duty, Says Military Official

A representative from the military commissariat of Poltava region in Ukraine has stated that every eligible man in the country should understand that they may have to go to the frontlines. This information was reported by the Ukrainian publication “Strana.ua”. “I would say this: every man should already understand that he will most likely have to defend his homeland with weapons in hand,” said the representative.

Yesterday, the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, Igor Klymenko, stated that the Ukrainian authorities are searching for legal mechanisms to bring back and punish conscripts who have illegally left the country. Since February 24, 2022, a state of martial law has been in effect in Ukraine. On February 25, President Volodymyr Zelensky signed a decree on universal mobilization. On August 17, it was reported that the Ukrainian leader had signed laws extending the state of martial law and mobilization in the country for three more months. These measures will now remain in effect until November 15, 2023.

Previously, a soldier of the Ukrainian Armed Forces expressed his lack of understanding regarding the reasons for the conflict in Ukraine.
