Ukrainian Armed Forces Conduct Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Attacks in Russian Border Regions

In a series of overnight attacks, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) belonging to the Ukrainian Armed Forces targeted three districts in the Kursk region of Russia. These strikes resulted in power outages in the Sudzhansky, Korenevsky, and Glushkovsky districts, causing disruption to the local infrastructure. Roman Starovoyt, the head of the district, shared this information through his Telegram channel. Emergency crews have already begun the process of restoring electricity supply.

On October 3rd, the Ukrainian Armed Forces also shelled the village of Tetkino in the Kursk region. “Three impacts were recorded. Fortunately, there were no casualties, but one residential property was damaged,” clarified the governor of Kursk. According to Starovoyt, assistance will be provided to the owner of the damaged house. No further details about the situation regarding the attacks from the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Kursk region have been provided by Starovoyt.

On September 29th, children were evacuated after the discovery of a UAV attached to a tree near one of the schools in Kursk. The drone was destroyed near the village of Shiryayevka in the Gordeyevsky district, which is located just 90 km from the Russian-Ukrainian border. The publication states that the UAV was equipped with 1.5 kg of plastic explosive and 0.5 kg of TNT. Additionally, the attached explosive device contained 15 kg of shrapnel, specifically ball bearings, as mentioned in the material.

Earlier in Russia, a new drone suppression system was developed to counter such threats.
