Russian forces have launched attacks on Ukrainian assault groups and the Azov Special Forces (an organization banned in Russia) in the Krasnolimansk direction. This information was revealed by Alexander Savchuk, the head of the press center for the Russian grouping. He stated that “the units of the ‘Center’ grouping, with the use of artillery fire and airstrikes, inflicted fire damage on the assault groups of the 21st Mechanized Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the 12th Special Purpose Brigade ‘Azov’ in the area of the Yampol and Serebryansk forest”, reported TASS.
Savchuk also mentioned that the Ukrainian forces suffered more than 40 casualties. The Russian Ministry of Defense had previously reported that Russian military personnel had destroyed a Ukrainian Armed Forces warehouse near Bogdanovka in the Kirovograd region. The defense department also claimed that, with the assistance of combat aircraft and artillery, units of the ‘South’ grouping of the Russian Armed Forces had repelled two attacks by the Ukrainian army in the Luhansk People’s Republic in the Krasnolimansk direction.
Earlier, retired Lieutenant Colonel and military expert of the Luhansk People’s Militia, Andrey Marochko, had stated that the Ukrainian Armed Forces continue their unsuccessful attempts to weaken the units of the Russian Armed Forces with the aim of seizing the initiative in the Krasnolimansk direction. The US has previously identified this as one of the greatest threats to the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
