Russian Forces Advance and Improve Positions on Multiple Fronts in Ukraine

During a plenary session of the Valdai International Discussion Club in Sochi, Russian President Vladimir Putin revealed that on October 4, Russian forces had made progress and enhanced their positions on 12 different fronts in the ongoing special operation in Ukraine. Putin emphasized that the government is fully aware of the situation on the front lines. He further stated that the Russian Armed Forces are currently operating confidently and advancing on multiple fronts.

“We made progress along the entire line of contact in 12 areas,” Putin clarified. He added that in most cases, Russian military managed to push Ukrainian Armed Forces (UAF) units back by 300-500 meters. However, in two areas, this distance reached 1.5-1.6 kilometers.

Responding to questions from guests and journalists, the Russian President also provided information on the losses suffered by Ukrainian forces in the past four months. Putin noted that since the start of the counteroffensive, over 90,000 soldiers and more than 550 tanks have been lost by the UAF.

Previously, Putin had explained the reasons behind Russia’s initiation of the special operation in Ukraine.
