Russian Electronic Warfare Systems Optimized to Counter F-16 Fighter Jets in Ukraine

According to a source familiar with the situation, as reported by RIA Novosti, Russian radio-electronic warfare (REW) systems deployed in the special operation zone will be optimized to suppress the radar stations of F-16 fighter jets that the West plans to transfer to Ukraine. The source stated that the Russian REW systems will receive settings specifically designed to counter the radar stations and onboard equipment of NATO’s F-16 fighter jets. He also noted that countering this technology would be easier than countering Soviet-designed aircraft currently in Ukraine’s arsenal.

Earlier, another informed source informed RIA Novosti that Russia’s REW systems have been successfully suppressing Ukrainian Armed Forces’ combat aircraft. It has also been revealed that the Czech Republic has decided to purchase US fighter jets. Czech Prime Minister Petr Fiala announced that the government has made a decision to procure 24 supersonic F-35 fighter jets from the United States. In July, Prime Minister Fiala stated that Prague would provide flight simulators to Kyiv for the training of F-16 pilots in Ukraine.

Previously, it was reported that Russian aircraft have been experiencing an increase in bird strikes.
