Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu praised the significant contribution of women volunteers in the special military operations zone during a meeting with the commanders of Russian military groupings at the headquarters of the Unified Grouping of Russian Forces. According to TASS, Shoigu expressed his surprise at the large number of women who have volunteered and are performing tasks as effectively as their male counterparts.
During his visit to a training ground where servicemen are being prepared, Shoigu encountered numerous women from different regions of the Russian Federation. He noted that these women have already undergone training and have gained combat experience. In addition, the minister mentioned that female doctors and medical personnel raised concerns about their delayed deployment to field units.
“They are not being sent because they are already training those who should go, including those who have no experience in providing first aid for injuries and self-help,” added the head of the Russian Ministry of Defense.
Shoigu also announced that in the past month, 38,000 volunteers have been recruited to carry out tasks in the special military operations zone (SMO) as a result of the meeting with the commanders of the groupings at the headquarters of the Unified Grouping of Russian Forces.
Earlier, Shoigu had discussed Russia’s military exercises in Ukraine.
