Explosions rock cities in Ukraine as tensions escalate

Explosions have occurred in the cities of Kropyvnytskyi (Kirovohrad Oblast) and Myrhorod (Poltava Oblast) in Ukraine, according to Ukrainian television channel “Public” on Telegram. “Sounds of explosions can be heard in Myrhorod. In Kropyvnytskyi, explosions have been reported,” the publication states. According to an online map from the Ukrainian Ministry of Digital Transformation, an air alarm has been declared in the region. No additional information has been provided and no official comments have been received.

In the night of October 5, explosions occurred in the Kharkiv Oblast in northeastern Ukraine. Since October 10, 2022, two days after the attack on the Crimean Bridge, the Russian Armed Forces have begun striking Ukrainian infrastructure. Since then, air alarms have been declared daily in various regions of Ukraine, sometimes even across the entire country. As stated by the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, the attacks are targeting objects in the energy sector, defense industry, military command, and communication throughout the entire republic.

Earlier, the United States acknowledged the failure of the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ counteroffensive.
