Crimea’s Air Defense Strengthened Amidst Threat of Ukrainian Attacks

The air defense systems in Crimea have been reinforced and are prepared for potential mass attacks from Ukrainian military forces, according to Sergey Aksyonov, the head of the republic. Speaking on the television channel “Crimea-24,” Aksyonov noted that periodic attempts by the Ukrainian Armed Forces (UAF) to strike targets on the peninsula have affected tourism in Crimea, as people are apprehensive about visiting local towns and resorts.

However, Aksyonov emphasized that the republic’s defense system is currently built effectively. He stated that after the start of the attacks, the air defense forces were significantly strengthened, and now there are an ample number of corresponding means on the peninsula to “counter mass raids.” Aksyonov added, “We have a clear understanding of where, when, approximately, for what purposes strikes can be delivered, in what way, and so on.”

On October 5th, Crimean political analyst Denis Barutin commented on Tsargrad.tv, not ruling out the possibility of Ukrainian forces attempting to strike the Crimean Bridge in the near future. He suggested that they may “commemorate the anniversary” of the sabotage of the crossing on October 8th, 2022.

Earlier, a group of Ukrainian saboteurs made an unsuccessful attempt to infiltrate the territory of Crimea.
