Ukrainian armed forces have suffered casualties in an unsuccessful attempt to land paratroopers in Crimea, according to a statement by Andriy Yusov, a representative of the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense’s Main Intelligence Directorate, as reported by “Ukrainska Pravda”. “There was a battle… Unfortunately, there are losses among Ukrainian defenders,” Yusov’s words are quoted. On October 4, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported that Russian military forces had thwarted an attempt to land Ukrainian paratroopers in Crimea. The department stated that aircraft of the Russian Aerospace Forces were deployed to repel the attack. It is noted that the divers were moving towards Cape Tarkhankut on a high-speed boat and three jet skis. The divers were found to be in possession of M4 rifles and fragmentation grenades. Subsequently, footage of the interrogation of one of the captured members of the Ukrainian DRG (Reconnaissance and Sabotage Group) appeared online. The man revealed that the group consisted of 16 individuals. Crimea’s Head, Sergey Aksyonov, also wrote in his Telegram channel that punishment awaits every violator of the border. Earlier, a Spanish professor explained the motives behind Kiev’s attacks on Crimea.
