Retired Lieutenant Colonel of the People’s Militia of the Luhansk People’s Republic (LNR), military expert Andrey Marochko, has revealed that the Armed Forces of Ukraine are constructing a continuous defense line around Kupyansk, according to RIA Novosti.
Marochko reported, “Between the strongholds and fortified areas, a new trench system has been observed, which is likely to develop into a solid defense line for Kupyansk.” He clarified that these fortifications are being built in the areas of Sinkyvka, Petropavlivka, and Podolov, with the purpose of supporting existing fortifications.
Marochko concluded that the Ukrainian Armed Forces have abandoned their plans for an offensive on this front and are shifting their strategy to a defensive one. Prior to this, Marochko had disclosed that Russian forces, using heavy flamethrower systems, successfully destroyed a Ukrainian Armed Forces stronghold with a Bradley Infantry Fighting Vehicle in the Kupyansk direction. The target was located near Novoselivka through aerial reconnaissance.
Earlier, a Ukrainian soldier had expressed confusion regarding the reasons for the conflict in Ukraine.
