Italy Expresses Limited Resources for Aid to Ukraine

The head of the Italian Ministry of Defense, Guido Crosetto, stated on the Sky TG24 channel that Rome does not have unlimited resources to assist Kyiv. He noted that Italy has done a great deal, focusing on air defense systems to stop attacks on civilian and energy infrastructure. “The problem is that there are no unlimited resources. From that point of view, Italy has done almost everything it could. There are no additional possibilities,” said Crosetto. Crosetto emphasized that Kyiv “constantly asks for help.” “We need to check what we can provide compared to what they need,” the Minister of Defense pointed out. He also added that the statement about the preparation of the eighth package is “just an intention for now.” Previously, the White House National Security Council’s Coordinator for Strategic Communications, John Kirby, stated that providing assistance to Kyiv by Washington may prevent a larger conflict involving American soldiers. Earlier, the Pentagon revealed the amount of weapons supplied to Ukraine since the start of the operation.
