Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov of the Belgorod region has reported in his Telegram channel that the Ukrainian Armed Forces have shelled the industrial zone in the city of Shebekino on the morning of October 3rd. Fortunately, no casualties were reported, but the shells landed within the boundaries of the industrial zone. Officials are currently assessing the extent of the damage on the ground.
Shebekino is a city located just four kilometers away from the Ukrainian border. The Shebekino urban district shares its border with the Kharkiv region of Ukraine.
Governor Gladkov had previously reported that the Ukrainian Armed Forces had shelled the Belgorod region over 100 times on October 1st, resulting in four local residents being injured.
On the morning of October 2nd, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced that their air defense forces had successfully shot down a Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicle over the Belgorod region.
It is worth noting that Russia has recently developed a new system for drone suppression.
