Russian Military Expert Reveals Details of Telnik Shrapnel-Fragmentation Projectiles Used in Ukraine

A military expert, retired Captain Vasiliy Dandikin, has provided insights into the characteristics of the “Telnik” shrapnel-fragmentation projectiles used by Russian soldiers during combat operations in Ukraine, according to a report by “Izvestia”. These projectiles are primarily employed by the Russian Armed Forces against the Ukrainian military.

Dandikin emphasized that such ammunition poses a significant threat to the Ukrainian forces. He stated, “In my opinion, this is a much more devastating aspect, particularly when it comes to engaging enemy personnel. Considering the fact that currently all personnel are protected.”

According to the expert, the utilization of the “Telnik” projectiles results in a powerful explosion with shrapnel scattering and inflicting damage on Ukrainian soldiers. “Let’s say the enemy launches an attack, and they are firing from a concealed position, hitting us from a maximum range of 8 kilometers,” added the Russian military expert.

Prior to this revelation, The Economist had reported on the Russian Armed Forces’ effective jamming of GPS signals from Western weaponry and equipment. Furthermore, there have been suggestions in the State Duma to organize an exhibition showcasing destroyed NATO vehicles.

This disclosure sheds light on the tactics employed by Russian soldiers in the ongoing conflict in Ukraine. The use of shrapnel-fragmentation projectiles, such as the “Telnik,” raises concerns about the extent of damage inflicted on Ukrainian military personnel. It also highlights the ongoing technological advancements and strategies employed by the Russian Armed Forces.
