Russian Defense Ministry Reports Ukrainian Attempted Strike on Belgorod Region

The Russian Defense Ministry has announced that the Ukrainian Armed Forces made an attempt to strike the Belgorod region, which was successfully repelled by Russian air defense systems. According to the statement released by the Russian defense agency, the Kiev regime tried to carry out a terrorist attack on Russian territory using three projectile systems and two unmanned aerial vehicles of aircraft type.

Earlier, Vyacheslav Gladkov, the governor of the Belgorod region, stated that the air defense system in the Grayvoron city district had successfully repelled multiple attacks by the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Gladkov had previously reported that Ukrainian forces had launched 70 attacks on the border areas of the Belgorod region in the past 24 hours. The majority of these attacks were focused on the settlement of Prilesye in the Krasnoyaryzhsky district, as stated by Gladkov.

The governor provided statistics on the shelling that occurred in the region on October 2nd. It is known that the Ukrainian side fired 70 projectiles of various types at four border municipalities, with almost 40 of them targeting Prilesye. Gladkov clarified that eight artillery shells were fired at the villages of Shchetinovka and Zhuravlevka.

Earlier reports had indicated that Ukrainian troops had fired a total of 115 projectiles at the Belgorod region within a 24-hour period.
