The Russian Defense Ministry has recently released footage showing the destruction of Ukrainian fighters by unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) in the special military operation zone on the Artemovsk direction. According to a statement from the press service of the Russian military department, operators of UAVs from the Southern Group of Forces are targeting Ukrainian armed forces fighters in trenches and shelters. “The enemy does not feel safe even in trenches and shelters and scatters when their positions are attacked,” clarified the Russian Defense Ministry.
Prior to this, the Russian Defense Ministry announced the destruction of ammunition depots belonging to the Ukrainian armed forces. Russian military forces shot down UAVs in the areas of Kupyansk in the Kharkiv region, Lisichansk in the Luhansk People’s Republic, and other regions. The Russian Defense Ministry also reported unsuccessful attempts by the Ukrainian armed forces to retake positions in the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) and Severodonetsk. It was determined that the 12th Special Purpose Brigade, 63rd and 67th Mechanized Brigades of Ukrainian fighters were involved in the efforts to retake lost positions.
In addition, Russia has recently developed a new drone suppression system to counter the threat of UAVs.
