In the Luhansk People’s Republic, a resident has been detained by the Federal Security Service (FSB) for providing Ukraine with information about the Armed Forces of Russia. According to the FSB regional office, the man is a Ukrainian citizen, and a criminal case has been initiated against him under Article 276 of the Russian Criminal Code for espionage. Currently, he is in custody.
According to the FSB, the individual, originally from the city of Rubizhne, was collecting and transmitting information about the location and movements of units belonging to the Luhansk People’s Militia and the Russian Armed Forces, with the intention of assisting the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
This news comes in addition to the recent arrest in Poland of a Belarusian citizen suspected of espionage in favor of Russia.
