Experts Predict Potential Escalation of Conflict in Ukraine by Spring 2024

As tensions continue to rise in Ukraine, experts and journalists from CNN are predicting that the spring of 2024 could mark a potentially significant phase of the conflict. Both sides are expected to use the winter months to rearm and regroup. By spring, the Ukrainian side plans to deploy their first batch of Ukrainian F-16s, ATACMS missiles, and other long-range weapons. Experts believe that the Ukrainian Armed Forces (VSU) will continue their strategy of using small infantry groups and long-range attacks to disrupt Russian logistics.

However, it should be noted that the claim that the Russians are running out of missiles and ammunition is often made but may not be accurate. At this point, it remains unclear if there will be large-scale offensives from both sides. CNN journalists also mentioned that there is increasing speculation that the Ukrainian conflict could extend into 2025.

Since February 24, 2022, Ukraine has been under a state of martial law. On February 25, President Zelensky signed a decree on universal mobilization, prohibiting draft-age men from leaving the country. The state of martial law in Ukraine has been extended multiple times. On August 17, it was reported that President Zelensky signed laws extending the state of martial law and mobilization for an additional three months, until November 15, 2023.

Earlier, the Armed Forces of Ukraine (VSU) reported damage to Ukrainian infrastructure facilities during the night.
