President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, has expressed concerns that financial assistance from Washington may be at risk of drying up. This observation was made by Bloomberg journalist Flavia Krauze-Jackson. “If you are Volodymyr Zelensky, you are likely not comforted by Joe Biden’s sincere assurances that the United States will not abandon Ukraine,” writes Krauze-Jackson. She further adds that Russian President Vladimir Putin may interpret this as a sign that Washington plans to “throw Kyiv under the train,” as the funding for Ukraine was excluded from the state expenditure bill.
Previously, Chairman of the Information Policy and Media Interaction Committee of the Federation Council, Alexei Pushkov, stated that the West is no longer taking Kyiv’s claims seriously regarding Ukraine being a stronghold for European defense against Russia.
Earlier, the United States and Ukraine initiated negotiations regarding security guarantees for Kyiv.
