Ukrainian Military Fires Tank Shells at Russian Border City, Governor Claims

In a recent development, Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov of the Belgorod region has reported on his Telegram channel that Ukrainian military forces have fired tank shells at the city of Shebekino. According to him, the Shebekino district was targeted with three mortar shells and six tank shells, fortunately causing no casualties. Additionally, the village of Novaya Tavolzhanka was hit by 12 mortar shells, while the village of Bezludovka faced six artillery shells.

This incident comes after the Russian Ministry of Defense announced that their air defense systems had successfully destroyed a Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) over the Belgorod region. The Ministry shared this information on their Telegram channel. It is worth noting that earlier on September 28, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported that their air defense systems had intercepted another attempt by the Ukrainian Armed Forces to launch a UAV attack on Russian territory.

Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov had also announced on the same day that their air defense systems had shot down a UAV belonging to the Ukrainian Armed Forces over the region, with no casualties reported. These incidents have raised concerns in the Kremlin about the escalating risk of attacks on Russian infrastructure during the winter season.
