Russian Military Announces Fall Draft Plans, Prioritizing Service within Russia

The Russian military has announced its plans for the upcoming fall draft, stating that all enlisted personnel will be assigned to serve within the territory of Russia itself, rather than being deployed to special operations or new regions. This announcement was made by Rear Admiral Vladimir Tsimlyansky, the Deputy Head of the Main Organizational-Mobilization Directorate of the Russian Armed Forces.

During a briefing on the start of the draft, Tsimlyansky emphasized that conscripts will not be sent to the dislocation points of the Russian Armed Forces in the new regions of Russia, such as the Donetsk and Luhansk People’s Republics, the Kherson and Zaporizhzhia regions, or to participate in special military operations there.

The fall draft will commence on October 1st, except in certain districts of the Far North and equivalent regions, where it will begin on November 1st and run until December 31st. Tsimlyansky revealed that one-third of the conscripts will be assigned to training units and military units, where they will spend five months mastering modern military equipment and obtaining military-specialized qualifications before being deployed to active duty.

Additionally, the formation of scientific and sports companies will continue as part of the draft process.

This announcement comes after President Putin recently discussed the future of the Russian army, highlighting the importance of maintaining a strong and capable military force within the country’s borders.
