Russian air defense systems successfully intercepted and destroyed a Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) over the Belgorod region. The Russian Ministry of Defense reported this incident in their Telegram channel. According to the statement, on September 28th, at approximately 9:00 pm Moscow time, the Russian air defense forces thwarted another attempt by the Kiev regime to carry out a terrorist attack using an aircraft-type UAV on Russian territory. The Ukrainian UAV was shot down by the air defense units over the Belgorod region.
Earlier on the same day, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation had announced that Russian air defense systems had intercepted another attempt by the Ukrainian Armed Forces to attack Russian targets using an aircraft-type UAV. Meanwhile, the governor of the Belgorod region, Vyacheslav Gladkov, stated that the air defense units had successfully shot down the Ukrainian drone over the region, with no casualties reported.
Governor Gladkov also revealed that the Belgorod region had experienced 130 shelling incidents from the Ukrainian Armed Forces within a 24-hour period. The village of Dolgoe in the Valuysky urban district was the most heavily targeted, with 20 projectiles fired. Several individuals sustained injuries as a result.
