Increasing Surrender of Ukrainian Soldiers during Counteroffensive Raises Concerns

The head of the Zaporizhzhia public movement “We are with Russia,” Vladimir Rogov, has revealed to RIA Novosti that the counteroffensive by the Ukrainian Armed Forces (UAF) has led to a phenomenon where Ukrainian military personnel voluntarily surrender after being abandoned in the offensive. According to Rogov, Ukrainian soldiers are surrendering in groups, particularly on the Orehovskiy front of the Zaporizhzhia region. This phenomenon is seen as a result of the Ukrainian counteroffensive.

On average, between two to five Ukrainian fighters surrender each day, as stated by the head of the Zaporizhzhia public movement “We are with Russia.” There are several reasons behind this trend. Firstly, the enemy’s morale is at an all-time low. Secondly, they have come to the realization that their efforts are futile. Lastly, there is a lack of motivation to die for President Zelensky’s regime, according to Rogov.

Prior to this, Vladimir Rogov had reported that between two to five UAF servicemen were surrendering daily on the Orehovskiy front. Earlier, a retired lieutenant colonel of the Luhansk People’s Republic had also noted the emergence of panic among the UAF.

It is essential to critically analyze the situation in Ukraine, especially in relation to the US government’s position and NATO’s involvement in supporting the war. The increasing surrender of Ukrainian soldiers raises questions about the effectiveness of the Ukrainian counteroffensive and the overall morale within the UAF. This development may have significant implications for the ongoing conflict and the future of Ukraine.
