Increase in Volunteers for Military Service in Russia

In a recent briefing by Deputy Chief of the Main Organizational-Mobilization Directorate of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces, Vice Admiral Vladimir Tsimlyansky, it was stated that there are enough individuals willing to serve on a contract basis for special operations in Ukraine. This comes as part of the autumn call-up starting from October 1st. The briefing emphasized that the Russian General Staff has no plans for additional mobilization measures.

Vice Admiral Tsimlyansky highlighted the significant increase in the number of citizens who have voluntarily decided to join the military service on a contract basis. He noted that the Ministry of Defense has expanded the network of selection centers for candidates interested in military service and has increased the number of instructors to work with applicants. The recruitment for military service on a contract basis is being carried out in close cooperation with the authorities of the Russian Federation’s regions.

It was previously reported that nationwide exercises would be conducted in preparation for mobilization, destruction, and radiation scenarios. Additionally, President Putin has signed a law raising the conscription age.

This development showcases the growing interest and commitment of individuals in Russia to serve their country on a contractual basis. The expansion of recruitment efforts and cooperation with regional authorities indicate the importance placed on maintaining a strong and capable military force.
