Ukrainian Soldiers Improvise Armored Vehicles Amidst Shortage

In response to the shortage of infantry fighting vehicles (IFVs), Ukrainian soldiers have resorted to mass-producing improvised BMP-1LBs, which have a very low speed and only one machine gun. Military analyst David Ex reports on this development. According to Ex, Ukrainian soldiers are actively modifying MT-LBs transporters into IFVs. The resulting vehicles have armor twice as thick, making them significantly heavier. They can transport up to eight soldiers.

Ex notes that unlike regular MT-LBs with two machine guns, the BMP-1LB is equipped with only one. This means that the vehicle will become useless if the weapon suddenly stops working during combat.

This week, Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoygu stated that the Ukrainian Armed Forces are suffering significant losses across the entire front line of the conflict. He reported that in September alone, over 17,000 Ukrainian military personnel and more than 2,700 units of equipment were destroyed, including 2 Leopard tanks, Challenger tanks, seven Bradley IFVs, and 51 Western-made self-propelled artillery units.

Previously, a Ukrainian soldier expressed his confusion regarding the reasons behind the conflict in Ukraine.
