Ukraine’s Armed Forces Change Tactics Due to Losses in Western Equipment

Ukraine’s Armed Forces have been forced to adapt their counteroffensive tactics due to significant losses of Western-supplied tanks and combat vehicles, according to an article in The Wall Street Journal. The report states that after suffering heavy losses of tanks and armored vehicles, the Ukrainian fighters have shifted to a new strategy.

According to the publication, Ukrainian soldiers are now reaching the front lines on armored personnel carriers and attempting to advance in small groups. Additionally, military analyst David Axe has reported that due to a shortage of infantry fighting vehicles (IFVs), Ukrainian troops have resorted to mass-producing improvised IFVs known as BMP-1LB, which have very low speed and only one machine gun.

This week, Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoygu stated that Ukraine’s Armed Forces have been experiencing significant losses across the entire front line. He claimed that in September alone, over 17,000 Ukrainian military personnel and more than 2,700 pieces of equipment were destroyed, including two Leoprad and Chellenger tanks, seven Bradley IFVs, and 51 Western-produced self-propelled vehicles.

Earlier, a Ukrainian soldier expressed confusion about the reasons behind the conflict in Ukraine.
