In a recent interview with the newspaper “Izvestia,” retired colonel and military expert Anatoly Matviychuk discussed the advantages of the fifth-generation fighter jet, the Su-57, which has been delivered to the Russian Ministry of Defense. Matviychuk emphasized that this aircraft is one of the latest Russian developments.
“This is a very powerful machine. Of course, the Americans have something similar, but our Su-57 has a very high level of growth potential. Unlike the fighter jet we accepted just three or four years ago, this is a completely different machine that performs infantry support functions,” Matviychuk explained.
He added that the Su-57 surpasses all fourth-generation aircraft in terms of speed, maneuverability, and firepower. Additionally, he noted that the fighter jet is stealthy.
On September 28, the Gagarin Plant handed over new serial Su-57 and Su-35S fighter jets to the Russian Aerospace Forces. According to Denis Manturov, the Minister of Industry and Trade, Russian aviation enterprises are “gaining good production momentum,” and the military will receive the next batch of equipment by the end of the year. Both aircraft are being used in the area of a special military operation.
Earlier, it was announced that the Su-57 would be equipped with missiles designed for high-speed aerial targets.
