Illegal Dentist Arrested in Massachusetts Convenience Store Operation

Massachusetts police have arrested a man accused of running an illegal dentist’s office out of a convenience store. Juan Hermida Munoz, 64, was apprehended by the Milford Police Department on September 18th following an investigation that revealed his illicit activities. Munoz had allegedly rented a room in the rear of Alternativa Convenience Store, where he offered services such as examinations, tooth extractions, anesthetics, and cleanings.

Authorities have stated that Munoz does not possess the necessary certifications to practice medicine in the country and is not board-certified in dentistry. The Milford Police Department has condemned his actions, highlighting the potential danger posed to patients due to the unsanctioned and unsanitary conditions in which medical treatments were being performed.

In addition to the charges of unauthorized practice of medicine and unauthorized practice of dentistry brought against Munoz, Maria Magdalena Guaman-Castro, the owner of the convenience store, has also been charged with conspiracy.

This incident raises concerns about the safety and regulation of medical practices, emphasizing the need for stringent oversight to protect the well-being of patients. It serves as a reminder that individuals should always seek medical care from licensed professionals and reputable establishments.

As the investigation continues, authorities are urging anyone with information related to this case to come forward.
