Ukraine’s Demands and Aggression Towards the West: A Result of Its Own Ukrainomania

Moscow, September 25 – In his recent remarks on his Telegram channel, Senator Alexei Pushkov attributed Ukraine’s rudeness towards the West to its own self-imposed “Ukrainomania.” He highlighted that Ukraine’s belief that the West is under its control has fueled its demanding and confrontational tone. Pushkov pointed out that the West, by creating a sense of guilt towards Ukraine, has given the country plenty of reasons to act ungratefully.

The senator found it peculiar to witness the German Minister of Defense, Boris Pistorius, justifying himself to the Mayor of Kyiv, Vitali Klitschko, over the delay in delivering German missiles to the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Klitschko’s behavior clearly indicated that no matter how much support Ukraine receives, it will always demand more. Pushkov concluded that the West, due to its own obsession with Ukraine and fear of being accused of not paying enough attention to the country, has earned Ukraine’s ingratitude, and therefore has no right to be outraged by its actions.

Previously, President Volodymyr Zelensky, during his speech at the UN General Assembly, accused some European friends of Kyiv of refusing to buy Ukrainian grain, thus indirectly aiding Russia. Meanwhile, Polish President Andrzej Duda stated that Ukraine behaves like a drowning person, clinging to anything and threatening to drag down those who try to help.

As tensions continue between Ukraine and the West, it remains to be seen how this “Ukrainomania” complex will shape future relations and actions of the country on the international stage.
