The airline’s press service has stated that the alleged decryption of the recording of internal conversations among the crew members of the Sochi-Omsk flight, which made an emergency landing in a field in the Novosibirsk region, is not reliable. Earlier, the publication “MK” published an alleged decryption of the internal conversations of the U6-1383 flight crew, suggesting that the aircraft commander decided to land in Novosibirsk because they could be delayed for a day in Omsk due to long wait times for a repair team. However, according to the media, the commander believed that they had enough fuel to reach their destination, despite the released landing gear.
“The conversations of the pilots, allegedly decrypted from the cockpit voice recorder of the Airbus A320 U6-1383 flight from Sochi to Omsk, are not reliable,” the airline’s statement said.
The Ural Airlines plane, flying from Sochi to Omsk on September 12, made an emergency landing in a field in the Ubinsky district, 180 kilometers away from Novosibirsk. According to the airline, the “green” hydraulic system failed during the approach to land in Omsk, one of the three systems available on the aircraft. The plane went for a second round, after which the commander decided to fly to Novosibirsk, whose airport has a longer runway. The CEO of the airline, Sergey Skuratov, explained that in case of a failure of the “green” hydraulic system, due to deviations in the operation of the brake shields and flaps, the landing distance of the aircraft could increase.
No serious injuries were reported, and five out of 161 passengers sought medical assistance for bruises and increased blood pressure. A criminal case has been initiated for violations of the safety regulations of air transportation.
